Redefining
The Design Experience

Process

Designing a commercial, institutional, or municipal building doesn’t have to be stressful. You should enjoy seeing your space come to life in a fun, collaborative way.

From day one, Jennings Architects works closely with you during every step so your ideas come to life. Because you’re not a client - you’re a partner in the process.

How We Work

At Jennings Architects, we believe great buildings start with great relationships. That’s why we prioritize clear communication, hands-on involvement, and fast, reliable support from start to finish.

  • We stay connected. You’ll always know where things stand—we keep open lines of communication with you and everyone on the project.
  • We show up. Regular site visits help us build trust, solve problems early, and spot opportunities to make things even better.
  • We’re close by. Being local means we’re quick to respond and never far when you need us, keeping your project moving smoothly.

Our Design Approach

We design with purpose, care, and imagination. Our work is guided by three key values:

  • Context – Every project responds to its surroundings and respects its setting.
  • Economy – We aim for efficient use of time, resources, and budget—without sacrificing quality.
  • Innovation – Creative thinking leads to solutions that are both smart and timeless.

Our Process

We follow a proven, step-by-step process to deliver quality at every stage of your project. Here’s what to expect:

  • 01.
    Discover Pre-Design

We begin by listening—learning about your goals, budget, and needs. We also study the site and outline a clear plan to guide the project.

  • 02.
    Imagine Schematic Design

We explore design ideas, sketch out concepts, and gather early feedback. This includes reviewing the existing conditions and discussing potential project paths and budgets.

  • 03.
    Refine Design Development

Once a direction is chosen, we add more detail to the design—coordinating things like structure, lighting, and mechanical systems. You’ll see a clearer picture of how your space will look and function.

  • 04.
    Finalize Construction Documents

We turn the design into detailed technical drawings and specifications that builders will use to price and construct the project. We also help prepare for the bidding process.

  • 05.
    Bid Procurement

We assist in reviewing bids or negotiating with contractors, helping you find the best team for your project while keeping an eye on quality and value.

  • 06.
    Construct Construction Administration

We stay involved during construction—checking in regularly, answering questions, observing the work, continually searching for opportunities to improve the project or streamline the cost, and making sure everything stays on track and true to the design. After completion, we support you through final inspections and a one-year warranty review.
